What We Do
At Pragathi Art Foundation, we recognize that (movement) cultures thrive when we engage in a dialogical relationship with the immediate and broader cultural contexts that we inhabit. In an attempt to materialize this recognition, children are trained in a detailed manner in both the traditional repertoire of Bharatanatyam (Kalakshetra Style) as well as in building new movement vocabularies, Classes are approached in a play like manner where over the course of the year students build on acquiring these skills which they showcase at an annual showing.
Our small class sizes allow for a deeper experience of learning dance by inquiring into the meaning making of dance from both historical and current perspectives.
Currently classes are held on weekdays after 5.00 pm in Rancho Cucamonga and Pasadena. Minimum age to enroll is 5 years. Classes are once a week and last an hour. When prepping for recitals, students will meet longer than regular class times.
